My Personal Massage Experience
Get me out! That was my prevailing thought. I have scratches here and there from slipping, sliding, and running barefoot. Not that I wanted to run barefoot, it’s just that I was left with no choice, because my rubber slippers kept getting stuck in the mud in almost all the events I was forced to join.
The sun had been hiding all day. I was drenched and exhausted from the dreadful physical activities our boss put us up to. I imagined mentally stimulating tasks for our team building, and nothing related to crawling or running around muddy grass. When I imagine team building, I start thinking of easel sheets and markers. Where did the office supplies go? My heart rate was slowing down because I was relaxed. Just as I was about to enter the bathroom, I saw the advertisement on massage stones. I think that ad brought a smile to my stained face.
In the shower, I struggled to get dirt from underneath my fingernails while wondering about massage stones. I just love getting a massage. I try to squeeze in one hour of massage a month. It was the most blissful hour. Have too much to do, so little time. I was in definite need of some relaxation after the day’s bodily torture. After one phone call, the masseuse was in my room. I immediately noticed the massage stones which she kept in her special heating device. Just seeing the masseuse was relaxing. Under normal conditions I would go into specifics about the pressure level, and type of oil used on my skin, but after the tough day I just had, it didn’t really matter to me. I was just happy to be in bed, surrounded by scented candles and getting a whiff of that sweet smelling oil.
Every now and then I felt the hot massage stones being rearranged on my back. I marveled at how the masseuse knew exactly where to set the massage stones. The heat was a nice surprise. This masseuse is heaven sent and I swear I would have given her all the money I had for her to stay just a little bit longer, but then my colleagues were waiting for their turn so I knew it wouldn’t be right to extend for another hour.
After a team building, everyone goes back to work with better spirits and new motivation to build a better team and a better company. My experience may have given me some physical pain, but I’d like to think I left that team building with more enthusiasm and a new aspiration. I dedicate myself to work in hopes of improving myself. I found out that I can really help myself. It doesn't matter how, but the fact that I get my heavenly hour in. My goal now is to get more blissful hours, and it doesn’t always have to be through massage stones, although I would welcome it on any given day.
