The Powerful And Affordable HP 4 M Plus Monochrome Printer

The HP LaserJet 4M Plus Printer is from Hewlett Packard's line of monochrome printers designed specifically for business or office use. It leaves enough room for expansion, enabling it to meet increased output requirements in the future. Such includes a duplex unit, the memory and additional media trays. This device also boasts of some printing technologies that enhance its performance and printouts, like its LaserJet 4M Plus toners.

A speed of 12 ppm (pages per minute) is provided by a 25-MHz processor. Working with it is the MEt (Memory Enhancement technology). This efficiently makes the most out of the printer's available memory so optimum performance is achieved. It takes about 18.6 seconds for the first black-and-white page to be out. Warm up time takes less than 45 seconds, so everyday tasks can be accomplished the soonest time possible.

A bit on the bulky side, it has a body measurement of 11.7 inches x 16.4 inches x 15.9 inches (H x W x D) and weight of 37 pounds. Because of these figures, it's important to designate a permanent spot for this machine as moving it around can be a bit of a problem. Fitted onto its body are a couple of interfaces: the 9-pin RS-232-C and Bi-Tronics parallel for hassle-free connection to a computer or office network.

This unit has flexible media handling capabilities. It carries with it a couple of media input trays: a 100-sheet paper capacity main tray, and another one with a 200-sheet paper capacity. Up to 3 media trays (optional) can be attached to the printer, bringing up its media handling to a staggering 800-sheet capacity, both input and output. Duty cycle is set by the manufacturer at 20000 pages a month; maintaining such ensures reliable printer and toner cartridge performance.

Supported media types are bond paper, recycled, vellum, cardstock, labels and envelopes. It's also possible to use laser-specific transparencies and photo paper. Supported media dimensions are executive, legal, letter and custom ones which measure from as small as 3.5" x 6.3" to as big as 8.5" x 14". A duplex unit (optional) may be installed for certain tasks that require two-sided printing.

Up to 600 x 600 dots per inch resolution can be produced by this monochrome laser printer. What's more, Hewlett Packard has also added the innovative Resolution Enhancement technology (REt). This allows for printouts with clear lines and crisp text. Even grayscale pictures or images can end up as hardcopies with photo-like features. This unit also relies on the Microfine HP LaserJet toner cartridge in an all-in-one consumable cartridge system.

It comes with a standard 6MB memory which can be expanded up to 50MB. This is possible because of the 4 available slots for single in-line memory module (SIMM) cards fitted onto the unit's body. Scalable typefaces available are 35 PostScript, 35 Intellifont and 10 TrueType fonts. You may download additional fonts, macros, forms and many more, depending on the remaining memory.

For a business or an office that's moderately sized, the HP LaserJet 4M Plus Printer can prove to be a helpful tool. It can be used with a single PC or network, and there's enough room for upgrading to meet varying output requirements. Having professional looking documents becomes simple with industry leading 4M Plus printer toner and all the other printing technologies Hewlett Packard has added into the machine.

Detailed black and white pinhole image using photographic paper?

I am doing this for photography and only have a week to do it. I have tried several times to make a pinhole image and my teacher is no help to me.
I am using a good pinhole 'camera'. It is a round tin and i'm using glossy photographic paper.
However, every picture I have tried comes out as an outline. For example I tried to 'photograph' a tree and the trunk was flat white as well as the leaves apart from the gaps that were black.
What am I doing wrong? I want my images detailed, not just chunks of white and black. It looks too much like a photogram.

Paper is intrinsically more contrasty than film and if you may be compounding the issue by processing your negative in a paper developer (also contrasty). If you have access to graded papers try a grade 1 paper rather than a Variable Contrast paper, that failing find a bit of yellow filter to tape in front of your "lens" to lower contrast. Look around for subjects illuminated by a softer light, look for subjects with less contrast, avoid back lighting and give it another go.

I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. Edison
