Dell Laser 3100cn Printer - The Affordable And Reliable Printer
The mid-priced Dell 3100cn printer is specially designed for a small office. At a price of $500, it performs very well and even has great features. Enhancements are available for this unit but they are quite costly. The Dell 3100cn replacement toners is what you need.
With the presence of its 4 individual Dell toner, this printer can take up lots of space. This model is quite heavy, weighing 53 pounds. It has a multipurpose tray that can expand if you pull down the front panel of the printer. If your major concern is space, this unit is not good for you.
This unit has 2 paper trays. The paper tray on top can store 250 sheets and the multipurpose tray can have 150 sheets. The output tray can be upgraded to hold 550 sheets. It will cost approximately $320 making a total of 950 sheets. This model also has an optional duplexer for $200.
This device has a speed of 400 MHz processor that is bundled with a 128MB memory which can be upgraded to 1GB. It also has a built-in Ethernet port in case you want to connect it to a workgroup. Aside from this option, you can also use the $150 optional wireless adapter. You can also connect the device to a computer using the USB or parallel port.
The printer package is delivered with a 5000-page yield cartridge and 4000-page yield for the color cartridge. You also have the option to replace the toner with high capacity versions. You can get a 5000 page black cartridge for $76 and you may also purchase a 8000-pager version for $110. For a 4000-page type colored cartridge, you may buy this for $120 but you also have an option to get an 8000-page for only $215. You will save a lot of money if you use the high capacity toner instead. As a matter of fact, color printing costs 9.4 cents per page and 1.4 cents for the monochrome.
The Dell 3100cn can print 23 pages per minute for black, which is fast for its class. As for mono graphics, it printed at a remarkable rate of 22 pages per minute, which is one of the fastest we have ever seen. However, color printing is somewhat slow with only 13 pages a minute.
This device is able to print quality black text documents. It gives a result of a dark gray color and not as dark as pitch black. This also occurs in printing monochrome graphics. For color printing, the machine's quality is about average. It gives a blurry and fuzzy edged small letter prints whic brings printing bar codes close to impossible. When it prints photos, it shows some banding with the color gradient. It uses excessive red color that results in weird looking prints. Keep your printouts looking crisp replacing the Dell 3100cn replacement toner when needed.
Can you recommend a writing manual?
Something that explains the rules of grammar and usage.
I remember a book an old friend used to have. He said it was required reading in most colleges (I never went). It was small and thin and had gray lettering and a box border around the edges.
Anyone?
The book you're thinking of is probably Strunk & White's The Elements of Style.

Some people find the Strunk & White a little too rigid so here are a few other books that are a bit different but also very good:

The previous answerer suggested Gardner's The Art of Fiction which is a fabulous book about fiction writing but if you're interested in grammar the book Gardner himself suggests in The Art of Fiction is An American Rhetoric by William Watt. It's long out of print but you can probably find it through your local library or you can pick up a used copy (if you want to spend $40-60). It's very comprehensive.

Hope that helps. Cheers.
